'Downton Abbey' Stars: Where Are They Now?

Truly a classic! Downton Abbey caught the attention of millions of viewers throughout its six seasons — and fans are still binge-watching the drama well after its finale. The British series aired on ITV from 2010 to 2015 and was brought to PBS audiences across the pond. Starring Hugh Bonneville, Dame Maggie Smith and more iconic English actors, the show was met with critical acclaim and earned numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries. Not only was Downton Abbey a major hit on the small screen, but it was also transformed into movie magic. In September 2019, several of the original cast members reprised their roles in a feature-length film spin-off of the successful series. The continuing saga of the Crawley family’s estate in the English countryside raked in $194 million worldwide. When the TV series came to an end in 2015, fans weren’t the only ones who were sad to say goodbye to the beloved characters. Bonneville, who played Robert Crawley, the Earl of Grantham, revealed that he couldn’t leave the role behind without taking a little something to remember him by. “I did liberate a letter from a character [played by Matthew Goode] called Henry Talbot, who really emerges quite clearly in Season 6, inviting [the Crawleys] to race a car or something,” the actor teased during a 2016 interview with Kelly Ripa. “On Downton, not only is each letter beautifully handwritten or typed if appropriate, but it’s also germane to the scene that you’re doing. It’s really beautiful, that level of detail, because it puts you in the moment, in that era that you are trying to evoke.” Bonneville’s pilfered prop now hangs in a frame in the downstairs bathroom of his home. While many fan-favorites returned for the film, Lily James didn’t make a cameo. Despite viewers’ disappointment, producer Gareth Neame and creator Julian Fellowes revealed that James’ absence from the movie wasn’t personal. “She can’t be [in it]; she’s in every other film at the world at the moment,” Neame joked to Entertainment Weekly in December 2018. At the time, Fellowes added: “Lily is now a big star, and it would’ve been incredibly difficult for her to find time in her schedule to come and play essentially a supporting role in Downton when her career was in a different place when she was with us. … She’s our greatest success story from the cast of the show.” Scroll down to learn what the cast of Downton Abbey is up to now.

Emma Stone and More Stars Announcing Pregnancies in 2021

Here come the baby bumps! Emma Stone, Josie Bates and more celebrities announced in 2021 that they’re pregnant. Us Weekly broke the news on January 4 that the Oscar winner is expecting her first child with her husband, Dave McCary. “She seems very happy and very excited about becoming a mother — she’s constantly oohing and cooing,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “She looks great, she looks healthy, she’s glowing. She’s been keeping up with friends and work lately, she’s always staying active and gets her daily exercise in.” The news came two years after the Battle of the Sexes actress told Elle about her future family plans. “My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older,” the Arizona native said in August 2018. “I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was, like, ‘I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids.’ And then I got older and I was, like, ‘I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.’” The Golden Globe winner added at the time: “It’s the turning 30 thing where you’re, like, ‘I’m not that young. I’m young, but I’m not that young.’” Stone and McCary got engaged in December 2019, two years after they started dating. The couple sparked marriage rumors in May 2020 after fans noticed that the La La Land star had swapped her diamond for a gold band during an interview with Reese Witherspoon. She and the Saturday Night Live writer were spotted sporting matching bands in September 2020. As for the Bringing Up Bates star, she and husband Kelton Balka announced on January 5 that they have a rainbow baby on the way after a September 2020 miscarriage. “We are so filled with gratitude and we couldn’t feel more blessed and more in love with the thought of being parents again,” the reality star exclusively told Us. “Though there are still fears, concerns and uncertainties, we are taking extra precautions and praying diligently for the safety of our new little one. So far, we are all healthy and baby is developing perfectly. We are overjoyed start this new year with such happy news and are beyond thrilled to become a family of four in early summer!” The UPtV personalities’ little one will join big sister Willow, who was born in July 2019. Every Time Bachelor Nation Stars Left Before the Final Rose Ceremony

Not a fan of roses! The premise of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette has stayed the same since the ABC dating series began in 2002, but not all of the contestants have played by the rules. If the show goes according to plan, 25 to 30 men or women begin the journey to find love each season and by the season finale, the lead chooses one person to get engaged to — and hands out the final rose. Over the past few decades, however, the ABC series has seen its fair share of individuals switch things up and walk off the show on their own terms. There have been 15 women who’ve left The Bachelor before the final rose ceremony and seven men who’ve walked out of The Bachelorette in the past — all of which surprised fans and the show’s lead. On season 23 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2019, four women made the choice to leave Colton Underwood in the lurch. His final pick, Cassie Randolph, even tried to bail before he confessed that she was The One. During the fantasy suite episode, Randolph told Underwood that “I’m not in love” and eliminated herself from the competition, causing him to famously jump the fence. The two later agreed to continue their journey together, meet his parents in Spain, and Randolph accepted his final rose in the finale — but that was the only time in Bachelor Nation that someone left and then actually won. Andi Dorfman opted to end her search for romance during the fantasy suites episode of season 18 of the series — she later became the Bachelorette — during one of the most frustrating breakups the show has seen. After Juan Pablo Galavis tried to reassure Dorfman that “it’s OK” — which was his catchphrase during the season — the lawyer shut him down before heading home. “It shouldn’t just be OK. It’s not OK. When you say it’s OK, it bothers me,” she said to him at the time. “I want to die if I have to hear ‘It’s OK’ again. I can’t handle it!” Two big departures on the female-led spinoff were season 9’s Brooks Forester and season 6’s Frank Neuschaefer. Forester walked out on Desiree Hartsock just days before the final rose ceremony in 2013. At the time, he was the front-runner, but after leaving she chose Chris Siegfried as the winner. The two wed in 2015 and share two children. Neuschaefer had an even more dramatic conversation with Ali Fedotowsky when he took himself out of the game in Tahiti with only three men remaining. At the time, he revealed he still had feelings for an ex-girlfriend, which broke the Massachusetts native’s heart. Scroll down to see all of the shocking self-eliminations in Bachelor and Bachelorette history.
